After two weeks of Beatles and songs from their birth years, the Idols take on Country songs which is probably the most difficult week for a diverse set of contestants: three who lived overseas, a RnB diva, a folksy guitarist, a high school kid who missed his prom, a controversial rockstar, a perky nanny, and the only true-born country girl. After a weeklong anticipation, crybaby controversy over some family bickering, and endless speculation of what the theme would be, American Idol kicked off with Randy Jackson’s unabashed yawning, which did not go unnoticed and un-mocked by Mr. Seacrest, and a celebratory snippet on the Beatles that ended up being the night’s leitmotif.
