FluxThoughts on Mega Manila Auditions (or on Pinoy Idol in general):

I. Stop cramming the auditions into an hour of ludicrous show (also applies to Mindanao, Visayas, and Northern Luzon). It was decent at first, but the style gets old. Show us something new. [For some reason, the Mega Manila audition is arguably the worst among all four, and it's a big letdown]

II. Wyngard may be the best and the worst thing that’s happened to Pinoy Idol. Depending on who takes it, his comments can be blatantly funny or annoyingly absurd. He just needs to refrain from the technicalities since he has no idea what he’s talking about.

III. Same with the past episodes, say something more than “For me, it’s a yes/no.” I didn’t even notice that Jolina wasn’t there since Ida Henares is just as laconic as Jolens is. Plus, the judges are inconsistent with their grounds for choosing who gets a golden ticket.

IV. For crying out loud, can Raymond say something witty? Or just come out of the closet already.

V. The parade of nations is sooooo hilarious: we love Issa-gani, the half-pinoy half-pinay who didn’t make it, and Merci, the half-Filipino and half-Spun(-ish), who didn’t make it either. Read the rest of this entry »
