June 6th, 2008 at 10:34 am e Well I guess your plan works Robby..I know you are a good singer but you are full of insecurities..Baguhin mo ang ugali mo how you treat one of your Idolmates kase insecure ka at worried ka kase alam mo na marami syang Votes because of his looks. You make me sick ng mapanood ko comment mo sa Pinoy Idol Extra..Robby: Wag po tayo mabubulagan sa panlabas na itsura.. What a campaign!! it only shows you dont believe in your capabilities.. You made one of your idolmates feel bad about himself although hindi nya kasalanan na marami syang votes bec. of his looks. Kahit anong galing mo I wont vote for you cuz you’re not a complete package attitude likewise…GUsto kita before but now no more…Pinoy Idol is not only based on singing alone but with overall..looks, talent and attitude..May talent ka. may looks ka din pero attitude panget!!Im sorry but i just wanted to pour out this feeling I have. Im sorry sa fans nya ok…Take care everyone

June 6th, 2008 at 4:42 pm e i saw that pinoy idol extra about robby saying something like “please vote for someone with talent, and not just looks.”

honestly, i don’t think he was coming off as someone insecure — as a matter of fact, what i saw in his piece was an honest wake-up call to PI voters to really look beyond aesthetics and see genuine talent as the main deal in choosing whom to vote.

i’m not defending robby navarro because i am a fan (hmmm … honestly, after watching him sing wildflower last night, i think i AM now a fan!) …

i’m just saying that it is unfair, that just because of that vignette in pinoy idol extra, you would judge robby as having a “panget” attitude. come to think of it this way, robby may even be referring to “unpopular” contenders like toffer (admit it, he may sing well but he ain’t that good-looking compared to the other males in the bunch) — that talent should supersede looks. TRANSLATION: it doesn’t matter if you’re pogi or panget, TALENT is the main deal here.

and here’s another angle: you know how primetime TV works, right? the more juicy tidbits the network spills about the contestants behind the camera, the more appealing it will be to the viewers. GMA may even resort to tweaking some interviews to make it look spicy and intriguing.

do you guys remember the intro to robby’s interview (”Mukhang may pinatatamaan yata si robby dito …”). it could well be a strategy to evoke reactions from viewers so that they will tune in regularly to pinoy idol extra to monitor if the “misunderstanding” or “tension” among the contestants would escalate or what. clearly, GMA is fueling the flame of tension between robby’s and daryl’s fans (have you noticed how GMA put their interviews one after the other, making it look as if daryl is depressed or stressed because of a particular contestant? probably robby? this could very well be a classic example of media manipulation).

so, what’s the bottom line here? let’s not judge robby navarro (or even daryl celis). let’s just enjoy all of the contestants’ performances and respect each other’s views. diversity in points of view is what makes life more exciting — let’s embrace this diversity.

thanks and peace out! :)

June 6th, 2008 at 11:29 pm e HI Bellarmine.. I did not mean to offend you or anything pero thats my observation. I just hated the way he delivered that message. Im a fan of Both Robby and Daryl pero honestly speaking super laki ng advantage nila Robby, Walton,Ram at toffer to the rest of the Idols kase mga beterano na silang singers as in yun ang kinabubuhay nila ang pagkanta sa banda. samantalang sila Daryl and the rest sa bahay lng kumakanta. What do you think is missing?? Bakit lagi na lng yung songs ni Robby maganda yung sa iba like Daryl and JJ so and so…may favoritism ba?? Well accdg. to my sources may nangyayari ngang ganyan sa loob pero hindi mo na maaalis yan sa ugaling pinoy yung hindi pagiging fair. That I can assure you na talagang hindi patas ang trato sa kanila. Kaya nga bilib pa din ako sa mga Fans nila Daryl at JJ kase nandyan pa din sila palagi to support them. I dunno but I kinda build some negative views kay Robby.Im sorry ha pero thats what I feel right now.

JJ did a so-so performance of Signed Sealed Delivered,

while Toffer did a not-so-clean but alright performance of a Harem Scarem song.

    Daryl Celis danced…

While Robby Navarro, according to Ogie Alcasid, sang Wildflower, like a real Pinoy Idol. Vote for Robby y’all!

But still let’s all vote for Warren: Type IDOL space WARREN and send to 367 or 2344 or whatever.

This guy sang Kung Ayaw Mo Wag Mo and it was ok,

while Walton did great with Lionel Ritchie’s Hello minus the awkward body movements.

Kid was the last to perform and as usual he’s ok but the judges wanted more.

Let’s vote for this Kid Camaya y’all, text IDOL space KID and send it to 2344 or 367! Vote for Kid! Vote for Robby! Vote for Warren!
